Detoxification refers to the way the body removes its metabolic waste products either physiologically or medically. The process occurs majorly in the liver. However, detoxification may also refer to the process in which the body retains its homeostasis after a long period of using addictive substance. Globally, most people believe that detoxification is achieved within the hospital setups. This is not always the case actually. In fact,most of the detoxification process can occur through a simple lifestyle modification.

Sleep as a Detoxification Process

The importance of having enough sleep cannot be underrated when it comes to detoxifications. A good night quality sleep is the word. One has to undergo a complete sleep cycle of more than eight hours in order to be detoxificationconsidered to have had a quality sleep. Quality sleep basically improves the body’s immunity by boosting the attacking power of bodies. The body will, therefore, be able to detox the chemicals and metabolites which are dangerous to the body. A good sleep also enhances the healing, recovery, and renovation of the worn out tissues of the body. Skin integrity improves and this helps in protecting the body against foreign organisms.

Food as a Detoxification Component

Another important way of detoxifying your body is through choosing the right food. The best proven diet than can help is food rich in vegetables and fruits. Vegetables and fruits basically improve body immunity. They are rich in minerals and vitamins which help the body in boosting its immunity. A good example is by taking green and leafy vegetables. They are very rich in nutrients that improve the number of red blood cells in the body thereby preventing iron deficiency. Avoiding foods high in bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein) such as red meat is also important in detoxifying the body. One should also avoid consuming fries and other fast foods like sugary drinks.

Exercise as a Detoxification Process

Increased daily physical activities is also an important factor in eliminating toxins from the body. Daily exercises by either walking for at least ten kilometers or jogging for more than 30 minutes is very important. Studies have shown that sweating helps the body release toxic substances in the form of sweat. Research indicates that sweat contain traces of toxic substances such as carbon IV oxide and mercury. This marks the importance of exercising in removing waste products.

Reducing Stress as a Detoxification Process

Having a relaxed mind and avoiding stressors is crucial in eliminating toxic substances from the brain. Research has shown that depression increases the levels of toxic neurochemicals and neurotransmitters in the brain. When the levels of the toxic substances produced because of stress and depression surpass the optimum level, it causes a buildup which may cause mental problems. By meditating and having a relaxed and stress-free mind, the brain is able to manage and eliminate its toxic waste products.

Clean Air and Water as Detoxification Components.

Purifying the air we breathe and the water we drink is also very crucial in managing the body waste products. Avoiding smoking and smoke and avoiding polluted environments helps a great deal in reducing inhaled toxins. Planting trees in your homestead have been proven to be the most efficient means of purifying the air. If everyone one planted one tree in the area or surrounding they live in, we would be inhaling a toxic free air. Water is known to be the single most important factor in helping the body to eliminate the toxic waste products. Most metabolic waste products are removed from the body via the kidney through urine. When you take more water the body and the kidney have the ability to increase the amount of toxins released. Water acts as a solvent which dissolves the toxic products such as urea and is eliminated through urine.
